Adrienne Becker
CEO and Co-Founder
You know me as the CEO of Level Forward but did you know that my first big job was holding a rope line for then Governor Bill Clinton? I was also – once – in charge of his saxophone, and – once – went running with him in the hills of Michigan on the campaign trail. I even – more than once – got to write a few speech lines for him. Those were thrilling moments; I was fresh out of graduate school and committed to finding a meaningful job – more so than in my early days folding sweaters at Benetton or volunteering my time as a young member of the world famous Community Board 7. Since then, I’ve been an entrepreneur-in-residence at Creative Artists Agency, CEO of DailyCandy, Inc., SVP at The Nielsen Company and InterActive Corp. I also serve the Boards of Youth + Tech + Health, the Story Pirates, the WNBPA and Killer Content, and serve my two kids, husband and five pets when I’m not working, swimming/running, or trying, desperately, to learn how to meditate.
How I Level Forward: I manage fear really well and I’m unabashedly learning to use that to be a true co-conspirator for equality. If I want men to see and treat women as equals, I had better set an example on behalf of my fellow POC and black humans with my white peers.
